The EPI congratulates the Republic of Congo over the adoption of its National Elephant Action Plan (NEAP), which could be a huge step forward for the conservation of a quarter of Africa’s remaining forest elephants. The Minister of Forest Economy, Mrs Rosalie Matondo, presided over the workshop in Brazzaville to adopt the 10 year plan. It includes proposals to combat elephant poaching, conserve habitat and reduce human-elephant conflict.
