Maria do Rosário Bom Jesus Lima, an Angolan lawyer, helped the EPI earlier this year in the successful implementation of Angola’s first ever workshop on wildlife crime, and in tightening laws on wildlife crime in the country’s new penal code.
Our EPI Friend of the Month is Nigeria’s Elizabeth Ehi-Ebewele, the Head of Wildlife and CITES Management, in the Department of Forestry in the Ministry of the Environment. Elizabeth played a crucial role in securing Nigeria’s membership of the EPI late last year.
Our EPI Friend of the Month is Albertina Nzuzi of Angola, leads the Angolan Ministry of the Environment on all CITES-related issues, and is part of the government team working hard to stop the trafficking of wildlife products through Angola.
Our latest EPI Friend of the Month is Jadress Komugasho, of the UgandaWildlife Authority, who plays a crucial role in managing her country’s ivory stockpile. She’s pictured in Mgahinga National Park (you can just about see a silverback gorilla behind her!)
Christian was Technical Director of Gabon’s National Parks for 6 years before becoming Director of Communications. He has 20 years of field experience in the forests of the Congo Basin. We’re delighted to welcome him as our first monthly Friend of the EPI!
