The African Coalition
The Elephant Protection Initiative was launched in 2014 by the leaders of 5 states: Botswana, Chad, Ethiopia, Gabon, and Tanzania

The Secretariat is staffed by an Executive Management team of experienced conservationists

Solutions
The Ivory Trade
Having successfully achieved its objectives, Stop Ivory formally closed in December 2020.

Stockpile Management
Stockpiles of ivory, and other wildlife products, accrue from carcasses found in the wild or seized from poachers and traffickers.

Harmonious Coexistence
The Elephant Protection Initiative is dedicated to mitigating and, where possible, preventing, the conflict between elephants and people.
